How the Library is Organised

There are three main sections to our library. These are Fiction, Non-fiction and Reference.

Fiction

These are books which are stories. They are organised on the shelf by the genre. All of our fiction books are allowed to be borrowed.

Non Fiction

These books are books of facts. These are organised by a system known as the Dewey System. This groups together books by their subjects. For instance it puts all Football books together in one section and Animal books in another section.

All the different subjects are given a number. We call this the Dewey Number. To find a Non-Fiction book you can either browse a subject index or use searchstar.

Most Non-fiction books can be borrowed. Certain ones like the Study Books can only be borrowed on an overnight basis.

Reference Books

These are really part of the non-fiction books as they are books of facts. They include Encyclopaedias, Dictionaries and other books of Facts.

The difference between these books and Non-fiction books is that Reference books are not allowed out of the Library. They are always available to read or study.

How I Live Now

It would be much easier to tell this story if it were all about a chaste and perfect love between Two Children Against the World at an Extreme Time in History. But let's face it, that would be crap. Daisy is sent from New York to England to spend a summer with cousins she has never met. They are Isaac, Edmond, Osbert and Piper. And two dogs and a goat. She's never met anyone quite like them before - and, as a dreamy English summer progresses, Daisy finds herself caught in a timeless bubble. It seems like the perfect summer. But their lives are about to explode. Falling in love is just the start of it. War breaks out - a war none of them understands, or really cares about, until it lands on their doorstep. The family is separated. The perfect summer is blown apart. Daisy's life is changed forever - and the world is too.
